A 30-Day (Personal Development) Challenge, Day 0: Setting Goals

Hey guys and gals, how are you doing? Clark here. And welcome to my brand new 30-day personal development challenge or case study. I’ve set myself a challenge to raise my vibration to be higher than it has ever been before, and keep it there for as long as I possibly could each time I find myself in that place of flying high. Please join me on this journey of self-improvement for the next month or so. To be honest with you, I think there really is no better time to be practicing personal development, what with the world being in lock-down in 2020.

I’m going to do something related to personal development every single day, and I will be journaling my progress. Bear in mind that I won’t be able to give you a blow-by-blow account of what’s happening every single minute, but I can and will summarize the main points as well as let you in on any wonderful insights that came to me. Today, I’m going to look at setting goals as well as deciding on the self help book I’m going to be reading for the next 30 days.

Setting Goals

I think the first thing to do is to set some goals for the next 30 days. Now I don’t want to cop out and take the easy route. I’m not going to say my goal is to achieve emotional manifestation, or feel good, although that is probably the most important thing that I am going to have to do in the next month or so. Let me set some physical goals as well.

So let’s see, I want to experience an event in which unexpected money flows into my experience. I think that’s not too specific and also not too general. There is a stiff muscle/tissue (or group of muscle/tissue) in my back, I suspect it may be mild rheumatism (although I’m not an expert on rheumatism so please do not quote me on this diagnosis/medical opinion), that I would like to have dissolved.

And in the next 30 days I would like to have an encounter with someone that pleases me very much, excluding the people I live with. Another thing, now my favorite sport Formula 1 is back, I would like to experience an inspiring, goosebumps moment during one of the upcoming races. OK, I think all that should be enough to keep me busy for the next month or so!

You know, a really funny thing happened tonight. After putting down earlier that I would love to dissolve my stiff muscle(s), I noticed the stiffness there more intensely tonight. Strange. In recent weeks the stiffness, or my notice of it, has been on and off. Is that good or bad? I guess time will tell.

What Book Will I Read?

I can’t be having a 30-day challenge without reading a sensational self-help book. Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now is a book that I’ve recently read and found to be absolutely sensational. I’ve also been watching clips of Eckhart’s teachings on YouTube. He’s quite a funny guy. And I’ve been practicing his enlightenment exercises more and more in recent weeks.

Anyway, I came across another book of his, A New Earth: Awakening to your Life’s purpose. This might contain Tolle’s discoveries since The Power of Now, and/or further elaborations on all that was presented in The Power of Now. The book synopsis is as follows:

“Building on the astonishing success of The Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle presents readers with an honest look at the current state of humanity: He implores us to see and accept that this state, which is based on an erroneous identification with the egoic mind, is one of dangerous insanity.”

That’s it then, THIS will be the book I read!
