That’s a question I felt people would think about while reading this chapter, and I would like to explore that with you below.

Once You Believe It, It Is Here

You may believe that what you think and how you feel determine how your life turns out. Usually when you realize that, there is a sense of optimism that you feel, a sense of excitement even as you imagine what’s possible for you. But what stops that momentum is you then turn your attention to HOW and WHEN you’ll be good enough at this thinking positive stuff, and HOW LONG after you become a positive thinker that what you’ve asked for come. Just like many times before in your life, you start to think that this is going to take a while, this is going to be a struggle, and all those negativity that you applied to almost everything when you think about them.

To answer the second question, not very long. In fact, this chapter told you this already. If you have a rich consciousness then you are rich now. Now some might be pessimistic about this, and it is not easy to explain what the author means exactly unless you are there yourself, but maybe I can tell you this: As you go about developing this rich consciousness it is almost instantaneous that you begin receiving impulses to think thoughts and perform actions that would bring you more riches. Remember also that the joy is in the journey of getting to where you want to be. But first you’ve got to train yourself into having that consciousness. If you do nothing then nothing will shift.

As to HOW and WHEN you’ll be good enough at this thinking positively mission, the first thing to do is DON’T keep thinking you’re not there yet because then you’ll never get there. Just be there right now. Believe you’re already good enough and you just have to remember to apply what you know. So if you’re feeling bad or pretty average at the moment think of something now that makes you feel better. And DON’T mull over the fact that you’ve thought so many negative thoughts in the past. None of that matters. Once you shift your thinking to a more positive train of thought, your outer reality will begin to shift so really how you’ve thought before doesn’t really matter.

And there is no better time to start than now. You can think positive when you’re going about your day, doing some task. If at the end of your current task you find that your thinking has slipped back to its old negative ways, never mind. Think positive again. If later at night you find yourself with some free time, put away everything and spend about half an hour just thinking positive thoughts, letting your mind wander from one positive thought to another.

The HOW is simple. You’ve done it before, countless times even. Think of a time when you felt real joy, and this has to be something specific to you alone because nobody else has live the life you lived. That was when you were thinking grateful thoughts, when you were enthusiastic, when you were excited about the future.

So BEGIN!

The most important thing is that you get started on it immediately. Besides the relief that you’ll feel, things will begin moving immediately. The longer you wait, the more you’re cutting yourself off from all the good that is just waiting for you to reach out and grab it.
