Hello everybody and welcome (back) to this series. I’m Clark and here on this page we shall look at Chapter 6 of the Prosper While You Sleep book, titled “Man Is Mind”. We will answer the question: what is the power of positive thoughts? You might find some of the content of this chapter to be similar to previous chapters, but just bear with it because certain concepts are important and deserve to be repeated.
Man Is Mind
This chapter says that one’s success or failure depends on one’s mind. So what can one do to utilize one’s mind to become successful, rich, healthy and happy? You can use your Conscious Mind (the general) to steer your Creative Mind (the army) towards the direction you want. For instance, if you’re not feeling too good today, just imagine your Creative Mind making the necessary repairs to your body as you sleep. Imagine waking up full of energy and enthusiasm.
If you feel the jump is too great from where you currently are to where you want to be, then implement it in stages. Say you’re struggling with a project that you’ve been working on for some time but haven’t really gone anywhere with it. You can start with the thought of “This thing CAN be a huge success” (modify it to suit your situation). Then you can continue with “This thing WILL be a huge success”. And finally, “This thing IS a huge success”.
The Power of Habits
In this chapter, it is claimed that 95% of what we do is habit. And that is certainly making sense. We don’t need to think when we drive a car, bathe, change clothes, etc. When we do those things, we don’t need to think, we just do them automatically. When we type a letter, we don’t need to look for each letter that we want to type. Our hands ‘remember’ where they are. And these are good habits. You don’t want to be thinking how to change clothes each time you do it. And you certainly don’t want to be thinking about how to drive a car when you’re driving it. Because then you are more likely to get into an accident. Anything that is done well is done with the power of the Creative Mind.
So it’s important to form good habits. What you always think about is also a habit. If you’re used to thinking in a certain way about certain things, your Creative Mind ‘understands’ your intention and will help you to think more such thoughts. To begin changing the way you think, it takes a bit of determination on your part. Not stress, just determination. You have to make the decision, again and again, to think positive thoughts until it sticks. When you catch yourself thinking a negative thought, you’ve got to make the decision to turn your attention to a positive thought instead. Over and over and over and over…
Stay Tuned, My Friends
Because this series is far from over. In these early chapters, the author seems to be pounding the idea into us that we CAN change our finances, relationships, health and happiness by using the power of our Creative Mind. So I suppose this forms the basis for the rest of the book.
Please leave your questions and comments below. No question is too small, no comment not valuable. Come back for the next chapter, and share this series with others if you think it’s a good one. Alright then, I’ll see you in the next one!
