Here on this page we shall look at Chapter 9 of the Prosper While You Sleep book, titled “You Are Twice as Good as You Think You Are”. We are going to look at some ‘how to think big’ ideas.
Ways of Thinking Positively
One thing about positive thinking is, there are countless ways in which you can visualize, there are countless affirmations that you can recite, and there are countless shifts in perspective that you can make.
One of the ways you can start to think constructively is to think that you are twice as good as you think you are (as suggested by this chapter) or even more than that! Begin to believe in the endless possibilities for yourself, and as always the trick is to be there in your beliefs instead of wishing or hoping for it.
An affirmation that I heard of and like a lot is “Things are always working out for me”. It is said to be a very effective thought to be having all the time because it is a non-specific positive thought, hence you don’t feel much resistance when you think it. You expect good things to happen to you without getting into the details and hence the ‘how’ of it. When you start becoming more specific, for instance if you imagine having a million dollars, you might find yourself feeling not-so-good because there is a little voice somewhere in your head that goes, “But How?”
How do you know whether you are thinking the right thoughts? If you feel good, you are. Sometimes you may find yourself ‘happy for no reason’ and wondering why. That usually comes about when you have been thinking positive, peaceful, powerful, loving, joyful thoughts, and as a result you are now at the frequency of such thoughts and receiving more such thoughts.
There is much talk about the importance of ideas, and a three-step process to start the flow of ideas. I think the first step, where you begin to expect to receive an endless flow of good ideas, is the key.
What I really like about this chapter, is the one sentence which conveyed the message that (in my own words) you can go through life without much success when a single idea can change your entire life around. So never give up. Keep reaching for a better-feeling thought because the best ideas are received at that high, great-feeling frequency. Don’t worry about what has happened before and focus on feeling great right now.
Are You Ready To Let Go?
When you really try to let your focus be on feeling great, at the beginning there would be certain ‘events’ happening that really set you off. For example, certain things that people say that you’ve tolerated before now become intolerable to you. This is because you’ve tasted the sweetness of feeling that good, but at the same time you’re not yet used to being there, thus your state of being is still unstable and it is unbearable to be around people like that and hearing stuff like that that pulls you (sharply) down. Just be aware of that because I think the awareness alone is going to help you lots in dealing with such ‘events’. At such moments it is important to remember where you want to be.
